Galloway and West Dumfries MSP Finlay Carson has praised the swift response from the emergency services and crew following a major incident on the Larne-Cairnryan service.
All crew and passengers have been accounted for and there are no reported injuries, despite horrendous weather conditions.
Commenting Finlay Carson MSP said: "This is a major incident at the port of Cairnryan, so I am very pleased that there are no injuries and everyone on board has been accounted for.
"That is testament to the excellent and swift response to what could have been a very dangerous situation, given the horrific weather that has hit the area today.
"I will be continuing to monitor the situation to ensure services are up and running again."
