Galloway and West Dumfries MSP Finlay Carson has praised the work being done by the Kirkcudbright Development Trust on a visit to Barrhill Woods.
The Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP joined Robert Ashbridge from the Trust, as well as representatives from the Galloway Glens project, in the hide at Kirkcudbright, to see the work being done to make the woods a true community asset.
Mr Carson also learned more about how the Barrhill Woods are being transformed by volunteers, including at the squirrel hide.
Commenting Finlay Carson MSP said: “The Barrhill Woods are an iconic site in the heart of my constituency and I am delighted to see the extensive work being carried out throughout the woods.
“Robert Ashbridge and his team of volunteers have ambitious plans for the woods and it was great to pay a visit to see how they are getting on, with excellent support from the Galloway Glens.
“It was a real pleasure to meet ‘Tufty’ as well to get the full experience of the squirrel hide!
“Robert and his team deserve real credit for their tireless work in promoting the Barrhill Woods for the community of Kirkcudbright and beyond and I will continue to support their efforts.”
