Local Scottish Conservative MSP Finlay Carson has today challenged Richard Arkless MP to explain to his constituents why he wants to hand the keys of 10 Downing Street to Jeremy Corbyn.
Speaking to SNP MPs this morning, Nicola Sturgeon said: "If the Parliamentary arithmetic lends itself to the SNP being part of a progressive alliance to keep the Tories out of Government then the SNP will seek to be part of that as we said in 2015."
Finlay Carson MSP said:
"Nicola Sturgeon has said that she wants to team up with Labour and the Liberal Democrats to keep Conservatives out of power after 8th June.
"There could be only one result of that so-called 'progressive alliance' and that is putting the keys of 10 Downing Street straight into the hands of Jeremy Corbyn.
"Everyone knows a Labour government under Jeremy Corbyn would be a disaster for our country and for communities here in Galloway and West Dumfries. But that's exactly what the SNP are now openly aiming to deliver.
"It's now up to Richard Arkless to explain to people here in Dumfries & Galloway why they think Jeremy Corbyn is the best person to become Prime Minister at this election, and why he is best placed to lead us through Brexit."
