What a Purrfect match!
Courage the Cat has teamed up with local constituency MSP Finlay Carson to promote this year’s Cash For Kids campaign.
The feline mascot met the Galloway and West Dumfries MSP at his constituency office in Castle Douglas earlier this week to recruit his services in the coming weeks and months ahead to raise funds for this worthy cause.
Starting on Monday 18 November, the campaign is being spearheaded by radio stations Clyde 1 and Greatest Hits and will run right up until Christmas.
Mr Carson is delighted to be involved in this year’s event especially as 100 per cent of what is raised in Dumfries and Galloway will go straight back out to helping disadvantaged children living across the local area.
He said: “This is such a wonderful cause and I am only too happy to be involved in it.
“My hope is to get as many of the schools, both primary and secondary, in my constituency involved in fundraising events that will help give children across Dumfries and Galloway a Christmas they may not have been able to have due to living in poverty.
“The same goes for workplaces and businesses I am hopeful that they will get behind this campaign to ensure disadvantaged children have something to smile about during the festive season and that they have not been forgotten.”
The MSP believes people in his constituency will become creative in ways they raise money.
He added: “Money can be raised in many different ways from a bake sale to a sponsored walk. However I am sure there are many other ideas that can raise money.”
“For instance, Christmas Jumper Day is scheduled for Friday, December 13, and this is a great opportunity to get people involved by dressing up in the cheesy Xmas jumped.
Dumfries & Galloway and every single pound donated, goes straight back out to helping disadvantaged children living across our area.
