I was delighted to attend the Blood Cancer UK parliamentary reception last night. I met with Alistair Boyle, a Blood Cancer UK Trustee and non-executive director at NHS Lanarkshire. His work is crucial in supporting those diagnosed with blood cancer and receiving treatment, and I was intrigued to discuss the UK Blood Cancer Action Plan. In the last 10 years, 1 million+ potential years of life has been lost to blood cancer. This needs to change. That's why I'm supporting their plan to improve survival in the UK.
