As part of Holyrood's Climate Action Summit, I took part in a panel Q&A session with Kirsty Tait, the Director for Scotland, Food, Farming and Countryside Commission, and Eleanor Kay, Senior Policy Advisor in Agriculture and Climate Change for Scottish Land Estates. We discussed soil health, dairy and meat consumption, issues in food waste and the ways we can create a climate resilient food supply chain.
I was delighted to take questions from the public regarding the issues that matter to them most when it comes to developing a reliable food chain supply that is not only sustainable, but also high quality and affordable to the public.
At Kirst said, 'The food system isn't broken, it's dysfunctional'. Let's make the necessary steps to repair our food system and raising awareness around the issue via events such as these is an excellent place to start.
