The SNP Government has now ditched Scotland’s climate change targets.
Yesterday the legally binding annual targets and the 2030 and 2040 interim targets aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions were officially scrapped.
The move comes after the Nationalists missed annual climate targets nine times in the past 13 years.
Now their incompetence has led them to drop the targets altogether.
We have long argued that a pragmatic approach should be taken when it comes to climate action, starting with backing for our farming, oil and gas sector that is critical to Scotland’s economy rather than abandoning them.
